Premium EquipmentRDS invests in the best possible equipment for logistically complex drilling programmes. This includes a groundbreaking innovation to mount modern Atlas Copco and Boart Longyear fully hydraulic core rigs on MAN 4X4 and 6X6 all-terrain trucks, which has proved to be highlyadvantageous and extremely reliable. These rigs are designed to dismount and mount in less than 10 minutes. The flexibility and mobility of this configuration has proved a major advantage and boost to drilling production as all drill rig-trucks are multi-configured to transport all rigs, cart water and normal heavy loads. This redundancy/ back-up significantly reduces down-time. Every second MAN truck is fitted with an hydraulic crane. RDS has a dedicated transport/supply support team and with its group-owned fleet of light aircraft available at MS Aviation, it is able to react quickly to any equipment required on a particular drill site thereby ensuring that down-time is kept to a minimum. The advantage of these configurations, together with the extensive experience of RDS field staff, allow for the implementation of drilling programmes in the most challenging of terrains. RDS conducts in-house modifications and technical innovations to its rigs and trucks through its sister company, MS Engineering. Significant improvements have been designed, engineered and implemented on the Atlas Copco and Boart Longyear rigs at MS engineering. In addition, RDS recycles used drill rods by re-threading the rods using modern CNC lathes. |
