Project management services are offered for all stages of exploration and for a wide range of mineral commodities. These include project design, planning and implementation of all phases of exploration work from early-stage regional sampling through follow-up detailed sampling and geophysical surveys to drilling and ore deposit evaluation. RES can manage all aspects of outsourced specialist activities such as airborne geophysical surveys, drilling progammes and analytical services.

RES offers high-level involvement in exploration progammes through industry-leading expertise in data interpretation and results reporting. Services also include data reviews, technical audits and independent assessments of exploration projects as well as geochemical and geophysical data interpretation and results reporting.

Strong ties with its sister company, Mineral Services, ensures that RES remains at the cutting edge in key aspects of the exploration industry.

RES provides expertise in both heavy mineral and geochemical sampling. Ongoing research, coupled with orientation studies, has allowed the company to customise in-house sampling techniques and approaches.

Through experience in southern and central Africa, RES has developed a highly effective logistical approach that permits rapid, cost-effective implementation of all sample types of geochemical and heavy mineral (HM) sampling programmes in all terrains.

The company’s approach to sampling recognises the critical importance of high-quality samples to the efficacy of mineral exploration programmes, which is achieved through well-trained, well-equipped and motivated field staff. Service excellence is attained through keen attention to detail and intelligent application of appropriate sampling methods. Close geological supervision of sampling and stringent quality control are top priority.

RES offers a broad range of exploration geophysical services. Key to this is the company’s ability to implement high-quality ground-based surveys that are both cost- and time-effective.  RES owns a comprehensive state-of-the-art suite of geophysical equipment. Its team of geophysicists and field technicians has experience in a wide range of geophysical methods including magnetics, gravity, induced polarisation, resistivity, electromagnetics, magneto-tellurics and radiometrics.

The marine division of RES has extensive experience in the evaluation of marine and alluvial diamond deposits and is ideally positioned to offer a wide range of professional services to this sector of the diamond industry.

It provides expertise in planning, implementation, management and evaluation of marine diamond exploration projects over a wide range of marine depositional environments including raised marine terraces and alluvial deposits. An integrated approach using geophysical data, geological interpretations, wave-refraction modelling, borehole information and sampling data allows for efficient evaluations that ensure optimal project performance at all times.

RES offers a full spectrum of services including the design and specification of survey work, implementation of surveys, client representation during survey acquisition, quality control, data processing, interpretation and mapping of geophysical survey data.

RES is actively involved in uranium exploration projects and in line with its focus on research and development has developed an in-house radon emanometry technique RadonX™ to service the uranium exploration industry. RadonX™ orientation surveys have shown this technique to be a highly effective uranium exploration tool.
